  • It has been a busy month for the Opening the Gate Project Team as we have travelled across the State to deliver the Agritourism Business Development Program as well as the Agritourism Masterclass Program.

    Over 80 businesses across Tasmania have been joined by 8 businesses on King Island and we will shortly head to Flinders Island for our last Agritourism Field Day.

Resources

Grants and funding opportunities available to Tasmanian businesses

  • The AgriGrowth Loan Scheme is an initiative of the Tasmanian Government providing low interest loans to Tasmanian farm businesses and agri-food businesses.

    It will provide loans ranging from $100 000 to $3 million to fund projects that otherwise could not be brought forward and/or financed under normal banking arrangements.

    Key features of the package include cost reductions, more flexible security and loan arrangements, and industry targeted dairy assisstance.

  • The Tasmanian Employer Bonus Fund provides eligible employers with funding of up to $6 500 over six months to meet various costs associated with taking on new, eligible employees.

  • Touring grants of up to $20 000 are available to eligible organisers of auto, motorbike, cycle or walking tours in Tasmania during the winter and shoulder season.

    Grants are available to eligible organisations who conduct a tour:

    • held in March - November period (tours held in December, January and February are not eligible);

    • attracting more than 40 people from outside Tasmania;

    • staying five nights or more in paid commercial accommodation (hotel, motel, B&B, cabin); and/or

    • spending at least 40 percent of its time outside Greater Hobart.

  • This program provides eligible small businesses with access to specialist financial services and/or business support to assist in business recovery, transition, growth, or application of other strategies to address the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and other significant events.

    Eligible applicants will receive a grant of between $750 and $1 500 to obtain financial or business guidance services from a suitably qualified specialist/consultant.

This government website features a tailored search tool that helps you find the licenses you need for your business.
