What we’re working on

Agritourism Accelerator Program

On the weekend, the Tasmanian Minister for Small Business, Madeleine Ogilvie, announced the four successful applicants who will receive funding as supported by the Tasmanian Government through the Department of State Growth.

We are delighted to share with you that we have been awarded funding to deliver an Agritourism Accelerator Program, which is designed to help existing agritourism operators across the state to continue to grow and develop their businesses.

As launch nears, we will be sharing more information about this new program on Agritourism Tasmania.

Opening the Gate

We are proud to have worked with Regionality Pty Ltd, Tom Chapman Film, and Collins SBA to help 100 farmers and producers accelerate agritourism in Tasmania.

This video is a great insight into the Opening the Gate Project and celebrates the past 18 months of our work on this project.

A story about people, product and place

The Other Side of the Gate honours our journey with Opening the Gate and celebrates the stories of participants involved in the project.

Opening its pages will give you a chance to see some of the wonderful aspects of agritourism in Tasmania that we have been privileged to help bring to life.

This book has been produced and published by Optimum Standard. If you would like a copy, please contact us.

Our clients say it best

  • Tasmanian Shipping Supplies and Offshore Unlimited have employed the services of Belinda Hazell as a consultant for our Quality, Food Safety, Environmental and OH&S systems for over 10 years.

Belinda’s professionalism, support and excellent understanding of our businesses have been much appreciated and we would highly recommend her services to anyone requiring a consultant for their organisation.

    Samantha Lucas, Compliance Manager

  • We have a long-standing relationship with Optimum Standard - Belinda and Allison provide a level of service that you don’t see with other systems providers.  The value they have contributed to our brand and the time and effort they have saved our business has resulted in bottom line returns of thousands of dollars annually.

They continue to provide support to our business which gives me confidence in my management and delivers greater productivity in the workplace.

Belinda’s experience means she understands and gets what a business needs and she delivers every time!  I would never run another business without the type of systems and support offered by Optimum Standard.

Belinda and Allison are brilliant to work with, they get in and have a go, and nothing is ever too much trouble.

    Bruce Oates, General Manager

  • Searson Buck engaged Optimum Standard to conduct a review of our existing systems and policies to determine whether we were addressing our WHS obligations appropriately.

Belinda took us through a thorough process that covered a broad range of topics and enabled us to explore areas outside of our original scope.  Belinda’s approach was thorough and very well informed, and she worked to understand our situation accurately, assisting us to create a clear picture of the areas we were well in control of, and areas which needed some extra attention.

She provided clear examples of our legislative requirements, some good suggestions as to how we could meet our obligations and identified some tools we could implement along the way.

She remained positive, accessible and open to feedback.  She worked with us to ensure that the final comprehensive report captured the information we needed it to in a way that made the most sense to those who would read it and was a useful document for us to then work from to address our gaps.  Belinda is a professional and engaging consultant.
